  Upon entering the bakery, one is immediately seized by a delicious scent of freshly-baked items that run the full gamut of delectable rolls, cookies, breads, etc.
  The plethora of items available is beautifully displayed on shelves underneath the counter. Suffice it to say I saw many a tourist take photos of the assorted sweets while we stood there, unwilling to make a decision for our purchases!
  A couple next to me was so thrilled that they nearly levitated with joy! Seriously, he told me they were from Denmark and... "Look! Look! Here are our country's pastries!"
  Beyond the delightful ambience of the shop itself, the baked goods  were rich, tasty, and satisfying. I hated to take the last bite but took comfort knowing we bought more items to take home with us!

  Poor service and mediocre food mar an otherwise cute bakery.
  
  We arrived to Olsen's and were pleasantly surprised to find the cafe was not particularly crowded. Unfortunately, that was the only pleasant part of our entire experience.
  
  Poor service: We waited in line behind 2-3 other parties. As soon as it was our turn to order, the server conveniently overlooked us and began to serve the customers behind us in line. After five minutes of this, we protested and were finally served. The waitstaff acted like they were doing us a favor and were impatient and rushed throughout the entire encounter. [As an afterthought, we should have just left at that point.]
  
  Mediocre food: We split a cheese danish and an apple strudel. Given the positive reviews, I expected that the pastries would be a lot better. They were just okay, and the apple strudel did not taste like it was freshly baked that day.
  
  Overall: there were several other really cute bakeries we passed walking through Solvang, and I really wished we gave them our business. We would have had a much better experience overall. Solvang is a super cute town filled with lovely little businesses. Do yourself a favor and skip Olsen's and go to others instead.

  Good place. Very cool open-air breakfast environment. A little pricey, but so are the other bakeries in town.
  
  We ate there twice. The first time we had a cheese/cherry danish (really good) , a raspberry shortdough, and a shape cookie (I don't think they make these. They look manufactured). The second time, we had a double latte, a napolean hat, and one of these little waffle things with a mocha cream inside and like dipped in chocolate on one side. Oh, and a slice of a kringle, which is like this filled danish kind of bear claw deal.
  
  This place is okay. Nothing fancy. I've been to far better bakeries, but this place does the trick. If you're one of those people who were "wowed" by this place, you need to get out more. It's a decent bakery; nothing more and nothing less.

  Could've selected the wrong items to try, but I wasn't all that impressed with this place.  I probably wouldn't have even tried this place if it wasn't for the voucher from Hamlet Inn across the street.  Because we were using the voucher, our selection was somewhat limited but the ones we got were typical items available at most other bakeries.  My family and I got a bear claw, apple fritter, and cinnamon bun.  They all tasted very average, or slightly below average.  None of them tasted all that fresh even though we came here fairly early in the morning.  
  
  Even with a free voucher, I'm not sure if I'll come back here in the future.

  Can't go wrong with a stop in Solvang. Oddly placed in the middle for the central coast, this quaint Danish town is a fun stop. Went with the ham and cheese crescent and cream cheese cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was light and fluffy with creamy icing. I'll go back and try to sweet icing next time
